I can't wait for spring

Well, spring is right around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited. This past winter has been so busy with school, I haven't had as much time with the rabbits, customers, blogging, or anything like that. I'm thankful for spring break which is coming up this next week, where I can get caught up on blogs, Youtube videos, emails and bunny chores.
My spring quarter will be a lot more relaxed than winter quarter has been, so hopefully you will see more of me on the blog, website, and my social medias.

Here are some updates, since it's been such a long time.

Babies -
Angie's babies are doing fantastic!! I don't know if I've updated the blog (with an update) since Zuzu's kit passed, but it was eaten by a rat and so since then, they have been inside until the rats are all dead. We are going to be setting poison out soon, and then it should only take a week for all of them to be gone.

I just LOVE these babies!!! I was so surprised with some of the colors: I was not expecting a chinchilla!!! So far the little chestnut looks the nicest. He or she is the smallest and has such tiny cute ears and a big head. Very docile too. The chinchilla is most likely a false dwarf. Big ears and big feet, but he or she is a crazy one, that's for sure! The cream is also a spaz, she or he gets startled easily too, haha. The opal reminds me most of daddy Ty, he's a very sweet and calm. All the babies just love attention and they can't get enough cuddles and pets!
Juniors -

I still only have one little junior, and she will be 15 weeks old tomorrow on the 12th. Holly's Clementine has a bright future here, and I'm continually blown away by how well she's maturing!! Her orange color is so bright and rich, with no signs of smut! I love her head, body, ears, crown...the list goes on and on. Only things I wish I could fix are her long front legs and weak ankles. I can't wait to show her again, at our next show in May she will be almost 6mos so she should do well!

Shows -

My next show is in the beginning of May, and this is the beginning of my busiest show season. I will be bringing Butterfly, Clementine, and Rosie and Saige (if I still have them), as well as any of Angie's kits that make weight. Of course this is just a tentative list - who knows what could happen before then!

Breedings -

Pretty soon I will be breeding Ty to May and Zuzu. I was going to do it today while it was nice - and then it started raining so terribly. I need to do it soon, poor Zuzu wants babies and May hasn't been bred for a while. Probably over spring break next week I will breed them, or whenever it's sunny and nice again.

HLRSC Guidebook

HLRSC = Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty Club.
SOP = Standard of Perfection.
These two terms are used throughout the entire blog. Be sure to leave a comment down below or email me if you found any of this confusing and would like more clarification!

The Standard of Perfection can be really confusing sometimes, and hard to understand. For Holland Lops, the HLRSC guidebook makes understanding what the Standard is talking about a little bit easier, with pictures and explanations from many different authors.

To receive this helpful guidebook, all you have to do is join the HLRSC. The membership fee is very small, and it's totally worth it for the guidebook and quarterly Hollander magazine.

What are the benefits of owning the HLRSC guidebook?

If you get confused by the language in the SOP or want to learn more about what a great Holland Lop really looks like, this guidebook is for you. But it's more than just a guidebook on HL type. It includes photos of different aspects of Holland Lop type, as well as articles on all things related to breeding, culling, starting out with Hollands, color genetics, health and much more.

HEADINGS LIST (not the individual chapters but different sections where chapters and articles under this topic follow).
~History
~ARBA Standard and Judging
~Starting Out
~Breeding and Culling
~Health and Disease
~Showing
~Selling and Marketing
~Advertising (where individual breeders advertise their rabbitry).

Okay, okay . . . but how much is it?

All you have to do to get this guidebook is join the HLRSC. For youths, the club membership is $17 for one year for a new member. For adults, the membership is $20 for one year for a new member. This fee is totally worth the guidebook and the quarterly Hollander magazine.
