Recommendations
The following recommendations are things I have used and suggest for rabbit owners/raisers. I have had success with them and have used/own them. These are just some of the things I recommend. I will continue updating this page.
RECOMMENDED READING (books):
~"Living with a House Rabbit" by Linda Dyke and Helen Flack - Essential if you are interested in sharing your home with a rabbit. Purchase on Amazon.com
~"Your Rabbit: A Kid's Guide to Raising and Showing" by Nancy Searle - Super helpful if you're a youth interested in breeding, raising or showing Holland Lops. A lot of info is outdated but it's still a great read with lots of info. Purchase on Amazon.com
~"As Easy As ABC: About Bunny Colors" by Ellen Eddy - All about rabbit coat color genetics! Really informative and easy to understand. Purchase HERE
~"Pet Rabbit Care: All the Basics" by Holly Wisniew - written by me, this book has all the info you need to know about rabbit ca_re, before or after you bring the rabbit home! Purchase HERE
RECOMMENDED READING (online)
~The Nature Trail - Lots of informative articles from a long-time Holland Lop breeder (now retired), on pretty much every subject you can think of rabbit-related.
~Barbi Brown's Bunnies - Treasure trove of everything rabbit. Again, covers everything you'll ever need to know on rabbits in general.
~The House Rabbit Society - Interested in getting a house rabbit? Read these articles.
~Medirabbit - "aims to share quality information about rabbit medicine: description of diseases, clinical signs and diagnosis, proper treatment, surgical procedures, radio graphs with explanations, differentials, case reports, safe medication, etc."
~Pocketful of Bunnies First Aid Kit - Love the articles on here!
~Rise and Shine Rabbitry: Medicinal Herbs for Rabbits - This is great for finding out what herbs are safe for rabbits to eat, as well as medicinal properties most herbs have for rabbits!
RECOMMENDED FEEDS
~Albers 16% Rabbit Feed - I used to use this in the past. I got good results with it, but there are much better feeds out there. If you have the choice between this and the Purina feed below, go with Purina.
~Purina Show (blue bag) - I use this currently. I love it and the rabbits love it!
~Kaytee Forti-Diet Pro Health Rabbit Food for Adults/Juniors - Used this back when I only had one rabbit, my house pet. Comes with little treats that rabbits love, but I always picked those out and gave them to her as a treat since they aren't that healthy.
