Facts About the Holland Lop Breed
1. Holland Lops are the smallest lop breed, weighing in at 4 pounds or less. Occasionally, we will have pet rabbits for sale that exceed 4 pounds, but they will definitely stay under 4.5 pounds which is still very small.
2. Holland Lops make amazing pets! They have puppy-like temperaments and some will follow you around, begging for attention and love. Hollands are very doting.
3. Holland Lops are supposed to look bulky and chunky, with big heads and short ears on stumpy front legs.
4. A common health problem in Holland Lops is their teeth. Since they have flat faces, they are prone to getting a condition known as malocclusion, which misaligned teeth. Usually this is genetic, and I have never had a case of it in my rabbitry. My rabbits do not carry that horrible problem. However, keep an eye on your Holland's teeth. Sometimes chewing on the wire bars of their cage can cause malocclusion.
