When my rabbits are shedding, I try to brush each one daily to remove all the dead hair.
I also dampen my hands with water and pet the rabbit. All the dead fur comes off onto my hands. I wipe my hands and keep doing it until no more hair comes off.
Rabbits ingest a lot of fur when they are shedding. They shouldn't get a hairball if their gut is moving the way its supposed to, they get frequent exercise, they are healthy, and they have a proper diet. However, most breeders (I will doing this as well), give papaya tablets during heavy molts to help get the fur moving through the digestive system properly. Rabbits cannot cough up hairballs like cats can.
