A Healthy Rabbit
What does a healthy rabbit look like?
Rabbits are prey animals and are extremely good at hiding their illnesses/sicknesses. On my article, How Do I Know My Rabbit is Sick, you will see signs of a sick bunny. But how do you know your rabbit is healthy to start with?
A healthy rabbit will behave normally, be alert, active and playful and take interest in its food, water and in you. Rabbits are naturally curious, and if the rabbit is sick they will not take interest in their favorite things. They will have a good appetite, especially at breakfast time if they are on a diet. A healthy rabbit will have clean, shiny fur, bright eyes, and a dry nose.
Healthy rabbits will poop regularly (rabbits poop A LOT!), and urinate throughout the day. Their poop should be hard, round feces with no smell. The urine will range in color from clear to yellow, though my rabbits occasionally get red/dark urine after periods of stress with no other outward problems or health issues.
